An Initiative by the MIE

A collaboration between SIAL Group, the world’s largest food exhibition network with 50 years of experience and the State Government of Meghalaya that is focusing on creating a Global Market for the Agri-Food Products of the State as well as the rest of North-East India. The North-East Food Show provides participants with the perfect platform for sourcing food, beverage and hospitality products and services in a trade-friendly business-class environment along with an opportunity to meet exhibitors in a relaxed setting to discuss procurement requirements in detail.

EChampion Challenge

An Initiative by the MIE

The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Conrad K Sangma is very keen on creating a growing number of sustainable business enterprises to foster socio-economic development and employment generation in Meghalaya. He envisions to developing an “Entrepreneurial Ecosystem” in the State. The entrepreneurs are the future champions to take the state economy on the path of growth and development. Therefore, the CM’s E Champion Challenge is being launched. The Challenge is the first critical step in order to kick start large scale and long term enterprise incubation strategy by the Government of Meghalaya.

1917 iTeams

An Initiative by the MIE

The Department of Agriculture, Government of Meghalaya, with the motto of Connecting farmers to markets, launched the project 1917 iTEAMS (Integrated Technology Enabled Agri Management System) in December 2017. The project which is based on Information Communication Technology (ICT) aims to cater to the needs of the farmers with just a phone call away as mobile telephony is the technology of choice for people from all walks of life today.

About the Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship

Meghalaya has redefined entrepreneurship by choosing to view every individual of the state who produces anything for the market as an entrepreneur. To bring about such a paradigm shift the Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE) is positioned to be the Nodal institution in the State for facilitating rapid economic transformation through entrepreneurship education and promotion of micro enterprises involving the youth, women and other critical target groups in the State. In this regard, MIE strives to be amongst the very best in the area of entrepreneurship creation and promotion, innovation and application of skills, technologies and harnessing the rich potential of promising sub sectors with clearly defined focus on apiculture, agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, pisciculture, aromatic and medicinal plantations, animal husbandry, non-farm enterprises and other locally viable, remunerative income generating activities.
